چکیده
This study aimed to investigate the effects of wild indigo (Baptisia tinctoria) root extract as a functional food material, in terms antioxidant and skin health-related activities. Both water ethanol (50/50, v/v) extracts showed high phenol content. They were evaluated for activity, such 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2?-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), protection factor (PF), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). While DPPH radical scavenging activities 84.23% 89.30%, respectively, at 200 ?g/mL total content (TPC), ABTS cation 51.39% 48.10%, respectively. The also desirable PF levels 1.18 1.16, Furthermore, on TBARS significantly increased by 37.31% 51.43%, extracts. dose-dependent collagenase inhibitory activities, up 27.60% 77.39%, an elastase activity 37.21%; tyrosinase effect (which facilitates natural skin-whitening) was 59.26% TPC. hyaluronidase inhibition, related anti-inflammatory 20.02% 14.30% extract, Therefore, B. tinctoria has potential applications cosmetics supplements due its health promoting

IN VITRO ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF Aloe vera LEAF SKIN EXTRACTS
The ethanolic extract of Aloe vera leaf skin was fractionated by liquid-liquid partition using hexane, ethyl acetate, chloroform-ethanol and butanol. The total phenolic content of the four different fractions were determined by Folin-Ciocalteu method and their antioxidant activity was essayed through some in vitro models such as the antioxidant capacity by phosphomolybdenum method, β-carotene b...
متن کاملEffects of drought on osmotic adjustment, antioxidant enzymes and pigments in wild Achillea tinctoria populations
Drought stress is one of the most important factors limiting the survival and growth of plants in the different habitats of Iran. Detailed knowledge about the ecophysiological responses of native plants to drought stress could contribute to the success of breeding and re-vegetation programs. Six wild populations of Anthemis tinctoria, were assigned to four drought treatments, i.e. well...

Antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the essential oil and n-hexane (HEE), chloroform (CHE), ethyl acetate (EAE), and methanol (MEE) extracts, respectively, from the root of Saurauia lantsangensis Hu were investigated. The GC-MS analysis revealed 39 compounds representing 96.41% of the oil containing T-muurolol (13.85%), acetophenone (7.46%), alpha-cadinol (6.26%), methyl palmitate (5.36...
متن کاملPhytochemical Properties and Antioxidant Activities of Extracts from Wild Blueberries and Lingonberries
Among Vaccinium species, blueberries (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) are popular in the human diet. In this study, total phenolic, total flavonoid and total monomeric anthocyanin contents in the ethanol-water extracts of blueberry and lingonberry fruits grown wild in the forests in the central region of Poland were assayed. Antioxidant activities of the extrac...
متن کاملIn vitro antioxidant activities of leaf and root extracts of Albizia antunesiana harms.
The antioxidative activities of the ethanol and aqueous extracts of the leaf and root samples of Albizia antunesiana were determined across a series of four in vitro models. The results showed that all the extracts had reducing power (Fe(3+)- Fe2+), DPPH, hydroxyl and nitric oxide radical scavenging abilities. The ethanol root extract had more potent antioxidant power in all the experimental mo...
